A New World Requires New Eyes

Just as many companies struggled to move beyond industrial thinking during the rise of the internet and platform economy, many are now attempting to layer AI onto organizational models, operating structures and leadership approaches designed for a different world.

As I argued in my earlier work and books, Byt Värld (2016) and later Disrupting Digital (2018), meaningful transformation begins with understanding the new paradigm. The new rules of the game. The challenge was never digital technology in itself. The challenge was understanding how digital networks, platforms and connected data fundamentally changed how value was created, captured and exchanged.

Today, we find ourselves facing an even more profound shift. The challenge is not AI adoption. Nor is it simply a question of transformation.

Artificial intelligence, or - as we reframe it - abundant intelligence is reshaping how value is created, how organizations compete, and how leaders lead. It is challenging assumptions that have underpinned businesses, institutions and operating models for decades.

The question is no longer whether organizations can change. The question is whether they can build the capacity to continuously adapt as the rules of the game will keep changing.

Those who view AI as another technology initiative may improve incrementally. Those who understand the deeper implications have an opportunity to rethink how they create value, organize the work, and cleverly respond to a world where intelligence is becoming abundant.

Our role is to help leaders understand what is changing, align around what matters most, and create the momentum required to respond.

Not once.

But continuously.
